Summer LAN 2011

  1. What should I bring to the LAN?
  2. Where/When is the LAN?
  3. What SHOULDNT I bring to the LAN?

Question: What should I bring to the LAN?

Answer:

While what you bring really depends on who you are, what you have, and what youre going to play, here is a general list of items that gamers should bring the the LAN Fest:

1. Yourself!
2. Your computer
a. Laptop: Your charger, headset, and any game discs/recovery media.
b. Desktop: Your monitor, cables, keyboard and mouse, headset, discs/recovery media.
3. Updates. While we have one of the best and most reliable networks among the LAN Fest events, internet can always be a problem. Make sure *everything* is up to date before you show up, so you arent sidelined during the event.
4. Money. Youre going to need to eat- and were not going to be able to feed you ever meal. There are plenty of restaurants and things to do right near the hotel, so come prepared.
5. Clothes. CLEAN clothes that is. Nuff said.
6. Sleeping materials. If you arent staying in a hotel room, bring a sleeping bag or something of the sorts. It can get colder at night when computers start to shut down, but the AC is still on full blast.
7. A good attitude! We cant state this enough. Were all coming out to have a good time and play some games with some fun people. If there is *any* other reason on your agenda that you are showing up, you should reconsider now. We dont tolerate bad attitudes.

Question: Where/When is the LAN?

Answer:

You dont like to read the websites you visit, do you?
The event is May 27-29th, 2011, at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel.

Question: What SHOULDNT I bring to the LAN?

Answer:

Lets face it, we all no nobody asked this. However, it is something that needs to be addressed.

1. A bad attitude. This is self explanatory. People who cause problems will be walked out by security.
2. POWER STRIPS!!! Every year we remind people of this, and yet every year, somebody taps in to our juice with their own equipment. So- to show you how strict the two-outlet rule is, we\’re implementing some new regulation. If we catch you with a power strip, we will give you one chance to put it away for the rest of the event. If you still have it plugged in later on, you will be dismissed from the event.
3. Drugs. Unless you have a prescription (and we aren\’t talking the kind from a head shop in California), we have a zero-tolerance policy. If you\’re caught, you will be escorted out by security, banned from future events, and reported to the proper authorities based on the severity of the infraction. Don\’t test this one.
