The Winter LAN Party is Almost Here!

We are only a few days away from the event. Here are some important things you should remember .

Times:
Event Start time: 3: 00 PM EST January 6,2012
Event End time: 12:00 PM EST January 8,2012

Location:
The Lee Center
135 Bethea Road Suite 503
Fayetteville, GA 30214

Are you younger then 18 years old?
You will need to bring a signed waiver. The waiver can be found here.

Things you can bring:
Computer / monitor / gaming accessories
Office Chair (We have seating for you , but if you want to bring your own chair you are welcome to)
Blanket / Jacket (The building will be heated, but you may want to bring one just in case)

Things NOT to bring:
Alcohol / Drugs ( If we find that you have these, we will eject you from the event!)
Battery Backups
Power strips
Air Mattress (Sleeping in place other then your chair is not allowed due to fire code.If you need a place to sleep there are some hotels nearby or you can use your car )

Things to do before arriving:
Update your anti-virus, operating system, update all steam games!

Ticket Sales

As we draw near the event, we are quickly running out of tickets. With just over 20 left, there is (hopefully) a good chance we will sell out. IF that happens, we will *try* to squeeze in any people who show up the day of to purchase a ticket, but seating is tight this year, and if we run out of room we may need to start turning people away.

If you’re still holding out on a ticket, hurry up and buy one of the few remaining while you still can– you’ll guarantee yourself a seat at the event, and save some money, too!

Here are the official tournament times!

Saturday – December 7, 2012

9:30 AM Counter Strike: Source
3:00 PM League Of Legends
7:30 PM Battlefield 3

We will be keeping to these times as close as possible! Please make sure you have your team setup and READY TO GO on time!
If you are not ready by these times your team WILL BE DISQUALIFIED!

And the results are in! Due to response in the email survey and in the forums, our official prized tournaments this year will be:

League of Legends
Counter-Strike: Source

And among our many non-prized official tournaments, you can expect:

Modern Warfare 3 (or other CoD version)

For those of you who received the email survey this time around- thanks for your votes. We will be using it again next time around- so be sure you attend the Winter LAN to have your voice heard next time! Tick Tock. Time’s running out on tournament voting/suggestions. If you received a survey by email- make sure you fill it out and have your voice heard. We will be considering the results of the poll more heavily than anything else. There is also good discussion going on on the forums right now about tournaments and their format- so make sure you get in on the planning action before we make our final decision.

We’re hoping to have our minds made up by next week– don’t wait!

Winter LAN 2011- 2012

Guys and gals,

We’re excited to announce the dates for the 2012 Atlanta LANFest Winter LAN! The LAN will take place from January 6th – 8th at The Lee Center in Fayetteville Georgia. This year we’re trying something new. For Science. We’re going to take 128 gamers, 128 PCS, tons of food, energy drinks, and music, and through it all in a HUGE heated warehouse– and see what happens. It will be an awesome event, and a new experience for all of us.

Obviously the tournaments will be announced at a later date. Why the wait? We want to give all of you a chance to voice your opinion. This event is for you, after all. Start posting in the forums and let us know what you’d like to see this year. Just as we mentioned, the attendees of the last Atlanta LANFest event will have greater weight placed on their opinions. Remember- if you don’t let us know what you’d like to see, you’ve got no room to complain when we make the announcement. :)
